Egg donation offers hope for a large number of women who previously thought they could never have children. For example some women may have experienced a premature menopause at an early age. Others may have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy. There are also women who are carriers of a genetic disorder and do not wish to pass their condition onto their unborn child. We also treat older women up to the age of 50.
There is a strong sense of teamwork at The Lister Fertility Clinic and we feel that it is this team approach that has helped us over the years to build a successful egg and embryo donation programme. The programme is one of the largest and most successful in the UK. Most of our key members of staff have worked in the Assisted Conception Unit for many years this also helps with continuity of care for the patients.
At The Lister Fertility Clinic we also have an Egg Sharing Programme, which offers a solution to couples needing egg donation and also helps other women needing IVF treatment. Through Egg Sharing a woman and her partner, who need fertility treatment, chooses to share her eggs with another woman who also requires fertility treatment with donated eggs. The egg sharer is not charged for her own standard IVF treatment and also gives another couple the chance of having a child.
