In January 2011, The Lister Fertility Clinic reorganised the egg sharing programme in order to streamline the process and make it a less stressful and time consuming for egg sharers. It will take approximately 7 weeks from the initial consultation to be accepted into the programme and be matched up with an egg recipient. You will need to visit the Lister once or twice during this period.
Step 1
For further information, call the egg sharing team on 020 7881 4078.
Step 2
You will need to have your hormone levels - FSH, LH, oestradiol (E2) and AMH - tested before the initial consultation. This can be done free of charge at the Lister or with your GP. The blood tests must be taken between days 2 to 5 of a menstrual period. If these blood results have been performed elsewhere, we request that they be brought to our egg sharing consultation.
Step 3
The initial consultation will take approximately 3 to 4 hours. It is important that your partner, if there is one, comes to this visit as well. The visit will include a pelvic ultrasound scan, blood tests, counselling session and consultation with one of our fertility consultants. The initial consultation and tests are free.
We require the following:
-
results of previous relevant medical tests
-
photo identification - a passport or a photo driving licence - with date of birth
-
details of your GP - we will require consent to contact your GP.
