The Lister Fertility Clinic at 31 Old Broad Street provides initial and follow-up consultations with a senior consultant, Dr Alison Taylor, who arranges investigations where appropriate and discusses different treatment options with patients. A semen test can be arranged with the embryologists at The Lister. An ultrasound scan is normally carried out on the day of the consultation and the results discussed the same day. With the patient's consent, we will continue to keep the referring doctor informed of the couple's progress in writing.
There is a fertility nurse practitioner in the unit who performs ultrasound scanning, cycle monitoring (IVF / ICSI / IUI) and blood tests. A personalised service can be offered with a good level of continuity by seeing the same member of staff regularly.
There is no waiting time for treatment and patients can usually commence treatment at a time that suits them.
After cycle preparation at 31 Old Broad Street, egg collection, embryo transfer and intra-uterine insemination (IUI) will be carried out at The Lister Fertility Clinic within The Lister Hospital in Chelsea. Counselling is available at The Lister Fertility Clinic in Chelsea to all couples and is offered free of charge.
