A semen test is normally carried out at the clinic on the day of consultation, so we ask that you refrain from intercourse for two to three days beforehand. It is preferable that the semen test is performed before the appointment with the doctor so that the results can be discussed during the consultation. A vaginal ultrasound scan will also be performed before the consultation. If these tests have been performed within the last 6 months, and you can provide the report, they will not need to be repeated.
