Semen freezing is useful for men who find it difficult to ejaculate on demand which may result in their inability to produce a sample on the day of egg collection.
By freezing semen prior to treatment we hope to alleviate some of the stress associated with producing a sample. However, the quality of the semen is reduced after freezing and therefore, if possible, fresh samples are obtained on the day required.
